Steven Schienvar is a Managing Director at Certum Group, where he leads business strategy, underwriting, and carrier and broker partnerships. With over 30 years in the insurance industry, his expertise spans actuarial science, underwriting, risk management, and operations across both primary and reinsurance markets. Prior to joining Certum Group, Steven was the President of AIG Re where he doubled the assumed reinsurance portfolio from $160m to $320M. Steven was also the Chief Underwriting Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer of AIG Risk Finance where he was responsible for overseeing all P&C underwriting of structured insurance programs as well as new insurance product development and internal risk management.
A graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Physics, Steven leverages deep analytical and underwriting acumen to craft bespoke insurance solutions for complex litigation risks.
