Dean Gresham serves as Managing Director at Certum Group, where he is responsible for advancing the firm’s strategic initiatives, overseeing the legal underwriting department, and chairing the Investment Committee. In this capacity, he leads the evaluation of legal and financial risk across all investment opportunities. Prior to joining Certum Group, Mr. Gresham practiced as a trial lawyer for more than two decades, focusing on complex commercial litigation, catastrophic injury matters, qui tam actions, and consumer class actions. His experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants provides him with a comprehensive perspective that informs his leadership and decision-making.

Mr. Gresham earned his B.A. from Texas State University and his J.D., cum laude, from South Texas College of Law. Over the course of his career, he has been recognized nationally and regionally for excellence in both trial advocacy and leadership within the legal profession. His honors include being named Elite Trial Lawyer of the Year by The National Law Journal (2020), selection to Best Lawyers in America, repeated recognition as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine (2009–2025), and consistent designation as a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters. He has also been recognized among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Texas by the National Trial Lawyers Association (2011–2025).

In 2025, Mr. Gresham was named a Global 100 Leader in Litigation Finance by Lawdragon, reflecting his leadership at the intersection of law and finance. He currently serves as Chair of the Dallas Bar Association’s Business Litigation Section and is a member of the DBA’s Judicial Committee.
